The Outs is here!
Oh, all you wonderful people, I’ve waited so long for this. I can finally, officially, tell the world that The Outs is out! At last, everyone can read Kitzi and Caleb and Amanda’s story, and find out what the Outs are all about.
For those who’ve followed this journey, The Outs is the book that won me a spot as a PitchWars 2015 contender. It went through a lot, and got picked up by Curiosity Quills Press a little over a year ago, which brought us here.
Here’s a taste of what the book’s all about:
Caleb’s been changing ever since the memory-stealing blackouts—the Outs—started. He used to be a good, dependable, honor-student. But now his parents have vanished, and a little voice inside tells him their disappearance is his fault.
And now that voice has pushed him to kidnap a little girl. Caleb wants to believe he did it to protect her, but he’s starting to wonder if he’s the one she needs protection from.
Then there’s Kitzi. Kitzi knows a secret she can’t share, locked in her head behind layers of brain damage. She wants to help Caleb and the kidnapped little girl, but she suspects a dangerous connection between this girl and the Outs. If Kitzi can survive Caleb’s mistakes and the strange girl’s reality-bending fits long enough to put the pieces together, her secret might save them. Or it could mean the end of everything.
